Obot Akara local government area is found in Akwa Ibom state, South-south geopolitical zone of Nigeria. The LGA shares boundaries with the Essien Udim, Ikono, Ini, and ikot ekpene LGAs and with parts of Abia state. Towns and villages that make up Obot Akara LGA include Abiakpo, Ikot Abia, Nto Edino, Usaka, Nto Esu, Imana, Ibiakpan, and Ikot Utu.
